Sartorial imagination

A wide variety of textures, patterns, colors and materials of the fabrics paired with the wealth of ideas of classic tailoring reflect the comprehensive wealth of design possibilities of a WERNER SCHERER made-to-measure suit. Perfectly tailored to your personal requirements and individual style, your personal one-off suit is made to measure.

SUIT

A suit according to your individual wishes and tailored to your personality: that is our goal. This means that your tailor-made suit not only fits perfectly, but that we also advise you on the right style. In addition to the choice of fabric and color, the right choice of model is crucial. Lapel shape, the Sacco single or double-breasted, high-closing as a three-button or slim two-button are detailed questions that are discussed in a detailed consultation.

TUXEDO

If an invitation specifies “BLACK TIE” as the dress code, a tuxedo is desired for this event. Tuxedos are also often worn at weddings, New Year's Eve parties or opera galas. When having a tuxedo made to measure, you have various model options that you can choose according to your individual style. The tuxedo jacket can be single-breasted or double-breasted and with a peak lapel or classic shawl collar. However, the silk mirror on the jacket collar and silk galon stripes on the side seam of the pants are always an integral part of a tuxedo. A tuxedo shirt and accessories such as a bow tie, clutch and cummerbund are the perfect way to combine your tuxedo. A must, however, is to wear knee-high socks with your tuxedo. Black is the classic color for a tuxedo. However, you can also opt for a colorful tuxedo in blue, bordeaux, green or purple with a dash of extravagance.

SPORTS JACKET | BLAZER | DINNER JACKET

If a suit or tuxedo looks “overdressed”, a sports jacket, blazer or dinner jacket is often the right choice. Whether for an invitation to a group of friends, a business meeting, the office or a chic event, your personal style should be coherent and stylish for all these occasions and you as the wearer should feel completely comfortable.

What should your Sacco look like?

Understated or boldly cheeky? Single-breasted or double-breasted? Simple with flap pockets and side slits at the back or stylish, slanted pockets with ticking pockets? How about a SAFARI jacket with an unusual back design with box pleats and a martingale as well as patch pockets with flaps and pleats?

FROM VISION TO UNIQUE

You can now look forward to the very personal journey of your made-to-measure suit. It all starts with a consultation to create the design. Measurements are then taken, after which an individual pattern is made for the cut. After 6-8 working weeks for the production of your WERNER SCHERER made-to-measure suit by our experienced master tailors in Italy, we will arrange an appointment with you to try it on. In the case of suits or coats, the further “fine-tuning” of the fit and the final finishing, e.g. the hand-finished sleeve buttonholes or the adjustment of the final trouser length, is then carried out in our tailor's studio in Munich, so that we can hand over your personal one-off shortly afterwards.

CONSULTATION

We discuss all the details for each production so that you end up with a garment that is completely tailored to you. You have your own personal lifestyle, your own requirements and ideas about style and comfort. The WERNER SCHERER team will advise you to determine all the details of your made-to-measure suit or sacco. Aspects relating to the occasion, age and figure play an important role. With expert advice, you choose the style and model, collar or lapel, the lining if necessary, the buttons and possibly the style and style of your initials.

PREMIUM FABRICS

For our custom-made products, we have put together a collection of first-class, high-quality fabrics that are characterized by a balance between functional wearing properties and a luxuriously comfortable feel. In addition to lightweight cashmere and silk, linen and Egyptian cotton, our selection also includes fabrics made from exceptionally fine merino wool in numerous colors and patterns.

Classic season-independent fabrics in a wide range of weights as well as seasonal fabrics in the latest designs.

Trust Werner Scherer's expertise and many years of experience and his recommendations as to which material can be used as a jacket or is ideal for a tuxedo, how and with which inserts, fully or half lined or currently very “trendy”, unlined.

DESIGN CREATION

Once the choice of fabric has been made, we determine the model. Should the sacco be single-breasted or double-breasted? This determines the type of buttoning and the lapel shape. We also determine the interior finish and the desired pocket variant as well as the back slits. We pay particular attention to the sacco buttons made of real horn, mother-of-pearl or metal for a blazer and the choice of lining fabric, which can also be a special eye-catcher in a bold color or pattern. As standard, we use high-quality BEMBERG viscose for the lining of your sacco and pure silk for extra luxury. On request, we can also have your sacco embroidered with your initials.

Since suits and tuxedos also include trousers, it is also necessary to determine whether the trousers have pleats? Other details such as the fastening at the fly, whether it is zipped or buttoned or whether the waistband is classic with belt loops or stylish with side adjusters.

SIZE & FIT

Once all the details of the style have been determined and the right fabric selected, you will be measured. In addition to your body measurements, the measurements of a trial piece are also noted to ensure a perfect fit.

Important for the style of the sacco are the design of the shoulders, the length of the sacco, the collar and the sleeve length.

We prefer a SOFT SHOULDER with only a slight shoulder insert and natural softness. For a good fit in the back, we pay attention to a well-proportioned shoulder and back width. We take a classic approach to the length of our Saccos, as we are not convinced by Saccos that are too short for adult men. This makes the front section with the lapels longer and the wearer looks a little slimmer. We are happy to adjust the sleeve length according to your wishes, whereby our style recommendation is that the shirt cuff should protrude approx. 1 cm from the sleeve.

EXPERT TAILORING

WERNER SCHERER looks back on a long family tradition in which made-to-measure tailoring was at the heart of the company. After giving up in-house tailoring, the custom-made shoulder pieces such as suits, saccos and coats were entrusted to Italian tailors.

It takes almost 25 working hours to make a WERNER SCHERER sacco. During this time, countless work steps are carried out by hand by our experienced tailors.

This commitment to craftsmanship, which involves cutting, stitching and ironing by hand, is very time-consuming, but ensures an extreme attention to detail and care, which is reflected in a perfect fit and conveys the charm and uniqueness of a handmade garment.
