The stiffness of the collar insert also shapes your style: firm for business, soft for casual, or semi-firm for the perfect balance of comfort and structure. Our experts recommend a semi-firm interlining for most occasions.

SELECT THE RIGHT FABRIC 

After style and fit, the choice of fabric is key to your perfect made-to-measure shirt. Because shirts are worn next to the skin, comfort is our top priority. We guide you in selecting from the finest materials—Giza, Supima, Sea Island Cotton, Normandy Linen, or pure silk—each chosen for its unique feel and quality.
Our selection also includes luxurious poplin, sturdy Oxford, elegant linen, and warm Cashmerello for winter.

All fabrics are sourced from leading suppliers like ALUMO (Switzerland) and ALBINI (Italy), renowned for their premium collections THOMAS MASON and DJ ANDERSON. This ensures a wide range of colors and designs, as well as sustainable production.

To complete your shirt, we add exquisite mother-of-pearl buttons, perfectly matched to your chosen fabric for that extra touch of elegance.

TAKING  MEASUREMTS   

Every shirt is crafted to your exact specifications, reflecting your personal style and preferences. Whether you prefer a slightly fitted or more relaxed silhouette, we recommend a close-fitting cut that blends a modern look with comfort and ease of movement.

Werner Scherer will personally take your measurements. In addition to your body measurements, we also note the dimensions of a sample shirt to ensure the perfect fit. From these details, we create a unique pattern tailored just for you—considering your stature, posture, and preferences for fit and comfort.

Your shirt is then handcrafted in our Italian workshop according to your pattern. For future orders, your measurements are securely archived. If your measurements change, we’ll adjust your pattern accordingly.

With nearly 75 years of tradition, we unite heritage and innovation in every shirt. Each made-to-measure piece is crafted in Italian workshops to our exacting standards, honoring the art of traditional tailoring. From cutting pre-washed fabrics to sewing and ironing, every step is performed by hand, reflecting true Italian craftsmanship.

Choose between a machine-assisted shirt for classic quality or a luxurious “fully handmade” shirt—where buttonholes, collars, sleeves, and even delicate seam reinforcements are crafted entirely by hand with needle and thread. These exquisite details showcase the virtuoso skills of our artisans.
